Contents
Vit C 750 mg, niacin 100 mg, dl-α tocopheryl acetate 30 IU, Zn 22.5 mg, pantothenic acid 20 mg, vit B6 20 mg, vit B1 15 mg, vit B2 15 mg, folic acid 400 mcg, vit B12 12 mcg
Indications/Uses
Strengthens immune system; antioxidant; helps in collagen synthesis; in wound healing & regeneration process; co-factor in Fe metabolism which enhances absorption of Fe; required for normal development & maintenance of immune system; helps regulate activity of cells involved in immune function; a cofactor of enzyme superoxide dismutase which is involved in removal of harmful free radicals; facilitates energy generation inside cells & maintaining brain health; modulates synthesis of prostaglandins important for body's immune response; major fat-soluble antioxidant stabilizing & protecting against free radicals; helps maintain healthy skin by inhibiting formation of lipofuscin.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Avoid high doses of pyridoxine during pregnancy. Not recommended in childn.
Special Precautions
Ascorbic acid: Chronic renal failure; patients receiving ASA.
Adverse Reactions
Allergic reactions, including rash, pruritus & anaphylaxis. GI effects eg, heartburn, eructation, abdominal pain & cramps, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea & anorexia; hepatic dysfunction w/ abnormal LFT including hyperbilirubinemia; deterioration of acneiform vulgaris or eruption of acneiform exanthema. Riboflavin: Bright yellow urine discoloration. Niacinamide: Strong vasodilator effects (flushing, dizziness or faintness). Pyridoxine: Peripheral sensory neuropathies. Ascorbic acid: Stone formation, crystalluria & oxalosis.
Drug Interactions
Niacinamide: Toxic delirium & lactic acidosis w/ alcohol. Increased flushing & dizziness w/ nicotine. Pyridoxine: Possible drug interaction w/ dopamine (levodopa). Decreased serum levels of phenytoin & phenobarb in patients receiving pyridoxine 80-200 mg/day. Folic acid: Folate deficiency w/ anticonvulsants & sulfasalazine. Ascorbic acid: Decreased prothrombin times w/ anticoagulants.
